EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Vienna Choral Society is sponsoring a series of workshops for area singers over the summer. All voice types and skill levels are welcome, including those who don’t read music. Voice 101 A two-hour comprehensive voice lesson (offered on two different dates) that covers breathing and support, range, resonance and projection, dynamics, natural vowel production, and your body as your instrument. Tuesday, July 13th 7:00-9:00pm Monday, August 16th 7:00-9:00pm Basic Music Notation, Rhythm and Sightreading A two-hour tour of music fundamentals (offered on two different dates) including reading music, intervals and patterns for sightsinging, basic rhythm, vocal ranges, and major/minor scales. Tuesday, July 27th 7:00-9:00pm Monday, August 23rd 7:00-9:00pm Instructor: Jennifer Rodgers Beach Jennifer is a professional performer, teacher and choral conductor with 20 years of experience. She holds a Bachelors in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Opera Theater. She specializes in teaching adult singers and has offered group classes in voice, acting and music theory over the last 10 years. $30 per class or two for $50. Minimum of 10 participants.
